For many, having to find and book the right entertainment for their wedding or special occasion, can prove difficult and time-consuming, especially when there are so many bands to choose from! At Soul discretion, we realise this and want to help make this process as quick and easy for you as possible. We have therefore included below some of the questions that we are most frequently asked and hope that our answers will prove helpful.

• What music do you play?

As well as specialising in playing the best in Soul, Jazz, disco and party music, we are also versatile and flexible enough to cater for many other tastes in music (please see our repertoire). We really want your occasion to be a complete success and are always happy to include any particular requests or suggestions that you may have (such as for your 1st dance etc.). On the day, we will also use our experience to judge which songs to perform by watching the audience and are happy to take requests (providing that they are appropriate).

• How long do you play for?

Our normal performance lasts for 2 hours (2 x 1 hour sets) with a break. However, as every situation is unique, we are very flexible and will always 'work around' your schedule and wishes as much as possible. We also can perform for longer (by arrangement).

• How much do you charge?

As every event is different, this will vary and will depend on factors such as: what size band you require, the location of your event, set-up and performance times and on any other special requirements that you may have.

• Do you provide background music during your break?

Yes.  We will provide ipod music of your choice or a disco (by arrangement) before we start, during our break(s) and also after the last set while we are packing away. In this way, you and your guests will have music for your entire evening or event.

• Where can we see you play?

Unfortunately, as with many professional bands, because a vast majority of our performances are for weddings, private parties and corporate events, it is often very difficult to invite you and other potential clients to see us (as we are sure you'll appreciate). However, occasionally we do play at public venues (such as restaurants and hotels) as a smaller line-up. Please contact us to find out where and when these performances will be next.  

• What equipment, facilities or refreshments, does the band require?  

Equipment                                                                                                                             Because the band is self-contained, you do not need to supply any equipment. All we require ia a safe 240v, power supply with ideally, 2 or more double sockets. 

Facilities                                                                                                                             As we want to look our best for your event, we will require some where clean and private to change and get ready (not toilets please:-) and if possible somewhere to keep our clothes in and relax when not performing.

Food & refreshments                                                                                                            In order to make sure that everything is ready for you and your guests, the band will arrive early to set up and sound check and at the end of the evening will usually be amongst the last to leave. Because of this our day can be very long and we ask that you kindly provide food for each member of the band. Usually an invitation to join the buffet is perfect and much appreciated. On occasions, where we have had a long distance to travel or have had to arrive/finish earlier/later than normal, we will also require hot food.  Refreshment-wise, as singing and playing can be thirsty work, we will require soft refreshments, please.
